New Jeremy Borger is Unemployed video
January 31st, 2009 | by Jeremy |In honor of today being the three month anniversary of being unemployed and due to the overwhelming response to my first “Jeremy Borger is Unemployed” video, (just go with me on this one) I have finally posted the second video in the series. Entitled “A Day in the Life of the Unemployed”, this video looks at an average day in the life of a jobless guy like me. Enjoy and forward to your friends.
By the way, for those keeping track, I’ve now sent out about 50 resumes and have three interviews that I’m excited about next week. Hopefully the next three months will be more fruitful than the last three months.

The “fancy moustache” reference made me laugh, nice touch.
BTW, congrats on being at the top search result for “fancy moustache” (And #2 for fancy mustache)
I bet the google ad revenue is pouring in!

Good luck, Jeremy. I just sent you a Linkedin invite, in hopes that you might find a couple people in my network that would be potentially valuable in your search. I’d be happy to make the introduction.

Dan, alas I’ve fallen from first to second on Google for “fancy moustache”, replaced by a vintage photo of fancy moustaches.
And for “fancy mustache” I’m third, after a fancy mustache keyhook and some genius who actually bought the domain fancymustache.com.
So far, fancy moustache has brought me only 2 visitors while fancy mustache has brought me one. But I should put an affiliate ad in that post for mustache cream to take advantage of the inevitable avalanche of fancy mustache search traffic I’ll be getting.

While I have stumbled upon this blog and a few things are entertaining. While I don’t know your situation, but with being out of work for a few months, a quick tip that i am sure you know is, most companies are going to Google potential new hires before they interview them. While I am applaud you having fun with your blog, it may also be what is holding you back on your job hunt. I certainly hope that is not the case and wish you the best in 09.

I know people Google potential hires and to be honest, if someone decides not to hire me because I posted a video of myself playing Scrabble with my dog, it’s probably not a company I’d want to work for anyway.
Most employers understand that people have lives outside of work. My sense of humor has nothing to do with the way I’ll perform my job. Unless I was discussing doing something illegal, I think I’ll be okay.
Yes, I’ve been known to drink beer. I’ve been drunk before. And sometimes I even swear! *gasp!* People savvy enough to Google me are hopefully also savvy enough to put what they find into context.
