2008 Honda Civic LX Coupe for sale

December 2nd, 2008 | by Jeremy |

Well, I’m selling my 2008 Honda Civic LX Coupe (that’s a two-door car for all you non car people). Since I’ve been laid off for about a month now, I’m doing what I can to cut my expenses. My car payment is about $330/month and my insurance is around $100/month. So, I’d get a $430/month savings by getting rid of the car. That’s a lot of money, especially for an unemployed guy.

So how will I get around? I’m hoping to get a job downtown so I could walk or take the trolley or something. My girlfriend has a car so I could use that when she’s not working. My sister said she’d be willing to let me share her car for about $150/month. She lives and works downtown so she doesn’t use her car during the day and she parks it just a block away from where I live.

There’s also a great Cleveland company called City Wheels that lets you rent cars by the hour. Basically, if you want to go shopping, you book the car online, walk to one of the places downtown where the cars are parked, do your shopping and return the car to its spot. It’s about $9/hour, so I’d have to use it for more than 47 hours a month before it would start costing me more than having my own car.

If you or anyone you know wants to buy my 2008 Honda Civic, check out my listing on Craigslist and contact me through that. Thanks.

Nice wheels — I’m cheap, or I’d consider it. I’ll tell others like me who have crappy cars.

Good move getting rid of this anchor weighing you down … CityWheels should help you get to all the second, third and fourth interviews you’ve been talking about!
