Dr. Geoffrey Stefko in Avon (and Medina) is a bad dentist

June 27th, 2008 | by Jeremy |

Last week, I talked with Dr. Geoffrey Stefko about doing some Internet search engine advertising with me in order to reach more people looking for dentists in the Cleveland area. He said it was something he has been thinking about lately since he now has a practice in Avon and two more in Medina. We set up a meeting for June 26 at noon at his Avon office. He said that would be a good time to meet since he knew he’d be there because he had some local city planner coming in for a teeth cleaning appointment at 12:30pm.

I drive 30 minutes out to Avon and show up for the meeting on time and as I’m waiting for him in the waiting room, his dental assistant comes out and tells me he’s not seeing anyone today. I told her that I talked to him last week on the phone and we set up this appointment. She says he’s just not meeting with any salespeople that walk in off the street. “I didn’t just walk in off the street. I had a conversation with him on the phone last week and he told me to be here at this time today. I gave him my cell phone number so just in case something came up he could call me.” Well, maybe you could reschedule for another time. “Why would I reschedule? Just so I can show up again and have him stiff me?” She apologized and said she was caught in the middle. “Well, a phone call would have been nice,” I said and I left, driving 30 minutes to the office. An hour round trip drive for nothing.

Dr. Stefko, if you don’t want my service, fine. If you don’t want to meet with me, I don’t care. But if you tell me you’re interested, we set an appointment and I give you my cell phone number and then I drive 30 minutes out of the way just to meet with you and you can’t even be a man and tell me to my face what a coward you are… You send your dental assistant to do your dirty work?

Maybe I should have been suspicious when I saw the name of his practice is “A Avon Family Dentistry”. A Avon? Is that some clever ploy to get listed at the top of the yellow pages? That might work if this was 1988. But no one uses the yellow pages anymore. And the fact that you don’t even have a website yet tells me you haven’t quite kept up with the times. (I think one of the Medina locations is Valley Family Dental at 330-483-4176… Still no webpage, but at least you can e-mail Dr. Stefko and tell him how rude and unprofessional he is at afd_vfd@yahoo.com)

Well, I hope anyone searching for Dr. Geoffrey Stefko the dentist, or Dr. Stefko DDS or just a dentist in Avon or Medina or anywhere in Cleveland comes across this page and realizes how much of a douchebag you are. Avoid the dental practice at 36900 Detroit Road in Avon, OH (44011). Don’t call to make an appointment at 440-934-3333. There are plenty of other good dentists out there. Just search for “cleveland dentist” on Google or something and you’ll see them.

Plus, when sitting in Dr. Stefko’s office, I heard a dog barking in the back room. I love dogs, but I’m not sure I want them licking the dental tools before Geoffrey sticks them in my mouth.

Ah, I feel better.

Gonna go out on a limb and guess Stefko isn’t going to advertise with you.

Oh yes, and I forgot to mention that you post is the top response for a google search on

    “Dr. Geoffrey Stefko”
    “Geoffrey Stefko”
    “Stefko dentist”

He’ll have to get busy with SEO to bury your flame.

And people think SEO is hard.

Wow…this sounds like a VERY unprofessional advertising person. I am sure that this is not the ONLY person that has “stiffed” you. Tell you what, if JEREMY BORGER ever called my company offering his services, I would have to slam the phone down just based on his outburst of anger on this blog. VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL JEREMY. Obviously they didn’t teach you how to handle rejection in college.

This blog has NOTHING to do with Dr. Stefko’s dentistry or his ability to practice. Just because he avoided a meeting with you doesn’t make him a bad dentist AT ALL.

From a very very satisfied patient of Dr. Stefko’s… I found Dr. Stefko and his staff to be very professional. He does great dental work as well as orthodontics. He and his staff are ALWAYS very pleasant and very helpful with information. His office offers great and affordable dentistry in a very CLEAN and professional atmosphere.

    Two thumbs up Dr. Stefko!!

Trust me, Dr. Stefko has NOTHING to worry about… your immature and childish outburst WON’T destroy his practice. This kind of anger and outburst only makes the author look childish and dumb.

Best of luck in your future there Jeremy!

    Dear Very Happy Patient,

“Unprofessional” is setting up a meeting with someone, having them drive out to your office and then just deciding not to speak with them and not even having the professionalism to come out and apologize or call the cell phone number they left with you when they set the meeting.

I don’t mind if someone slams the phone down on me. But setting up a meeting and then hiding in the backroom when it’s time for the meeting is just plain rude.

By referring to Dr. Stefko as a “bad dentist” in the title of this blog, I’m simply saying that he’s “bad” and a “dentist”. Just like when your dog pees on the carpet and you call him a “bad dog”. He’s not necessarily bad at being a dog, he’s just bad and a dog.

And I’m not trying to destroy his practice. I’m just telling the facts about his rudeness in a hilarious way.

    Thanks for reading!

    Well Jeremy…

Your “PROFESSIONALISM” is left to be desired. I am sure that you have come across the SAME situation before where a meeting had been canceled at the last minute. If it hasn’t happened to you before… GET USE TO IT. Ever hear of a DENTAL emergency. Yes, there are EMERGENCIES in Dentistry. IMAGINE THAT!!

I think you could have handled your rejection in a more professional manner by PERHAPS following up with a phone call to Dr. Stefko later in the day? Hmmmm maybe mailed him some literature to review AND THEN CALLING. Don’t just assume that he’s a jerk just because MAYBE HE TENDS TO TAKE HIS PROFESSION SERIOUSLY AND TAKES CARE OF HIS CLIENTS BEFORE A SALESMAN… hmmmm I’m thinking you would do the same thing dear.

Trust me, somebody is going to GOOGLE your name and see this childish outburst of yours and put the AXE down on anything you had going for ya.

Sometimes it is better to THINK before you TYPE. The world doesn’t revolve around Jeremy!

    ENJOY!

    Dear Very Happy Patient,

WHY do you INSIST on CAPITALIZING so many WORDS in your POST? Are you shouting these words? Or is there some hidden message in the capitalized words?

And no, this wasn’t a case of him having a dental emergency. He had no patients at the time.

If someone Google’s my name, a blog post about a rude dentist is going to be the least of my worries, trust me. (all charges were dropped…)

I know the world doesn’t revolve around me. But the moon does. Yeah, the moon. And the moon used to be part of the earth so that’s almost just as good. Just wait till they build that moon base. Then I’ll be saying, “Hey, Very Happy Patient, look at me! Not only do I have a moon revolving around me, but I have a MOON BASE! What do you have revolving around you? NOTHING!”

    Thanks for reading!

Are you kidding me? I have been to his office several times, the whole setting is unprofessional. They cram you in that little “house/office”, make you wait forever, they can’t even file a insurance claim. Then blame the patient. I would never recommend him. I especially thought he had very bad “bedside manner” with children!

I would have to agree with Al. The whole office is unprofessional, Dr., staff, and how the office is run. Something is definitely shady. I have heard dogs barking before which I thought was pretty weird. Funny enough, a friend visited the Valley City office and it was the same scenerio. Go figure? I would never recommend him either. Not someone I would want near my mouth!

I can’t find a website for Pettiti’s Garden Center. They should be next on Jeremy’s hit list. Sign ‘em up, or throw them under the bus.
