So I haven’t written anything in here in a while a…
August 29th, 2006 | by Jeremy |So I haven’t written anything in here in a while and that may be for several reasons… But it worries me because I look at this blog as some sort of creative outlet. And when I’m not writing in it, that usually means I’m too caught up in the day to day busy work of life and not taking the time to stop and reflect.
There’s more to life than work, eat, sleep and sometimes we forget that. Even fun things can be busy work! Because there’s more to life than just partying or drinking 18 shots of Jager. On a Wednesday. In your kitchen. By yourself.
We have to sometimes slow down and take a look at the big picture around us and how we fit into the grand design of things. We have to have a meaningful conversation with a friend now and then instead of just blabbing about some TV show or how drunk we got the night before.
I think that’s why I enjoy things like music and reading and riding my bike. It’s during those times I can reflect on things that actually have substance.
I’ve gotten upset and depressed about stupid things lately and it’s made me wonder if I should focus more on helping others. Because if we’re trying to help others, we’re not just looking at ourselves. It’s something else that connects us to the big picture and goes against out selfish nature.
Although that selfish nature is hard to go against…

Yes, but in effect if you are trying to please others, you are doing it to add a certain “happiness” or “satisfaction” back to your own life, so in theory you are subconsciously helping others only to please yourself. I dunno, something I heard one day. That’s why I just don’t help others…hmm…maybe thats why I don’t have a girlfriend…

I read a couple of your old posts from 2002 and you said that you had a copy of tobyMac’s first album and that you liked it and such. He’s releasing his third album this December, I know it’s going to be great. Spread the news and keep being a tobyMac freak!
