So I have to move by the end of March. Right now …

So I have to move by the end of March. Right now I’m living in a house my roommate owns near Strongsville and he’s getting married. I’ve been considering buying a condo in downtown Cleveland because I like the life and energy of the city. I figure, I’m 28 and single right now so if I don’t move down there now, I probably never will.

I’ve found some cool places like the Grand Arcade in the Warehouse District and The Pointe at Gateway in the Gateway District. They’re in my price range and all that good stuff.

But the fact is, if I moved to the suburbs, I could get a place that was about double the size for the same amount of money as what I’m looking at downtown. And that’s what makes me wonder if I should live downtown or not. Does the coolness of living downtown outweigh living in a place that’s half the size of what I could get outside the city?

When people give me their opinions and say I could live in the suburbs, I find myself defending downtown. So maybe that says I really should live downtown. And I want to. I guess the ideal situation would be the price and size of a condo in Westlake being downtown, but that doesn’t exist.
