Well, the MSBlast Microsoft Windows worm is racing…
August 13th, 2003 | by Jeremy |Well, the MSBlast Microsoft Windows worm is racing through the PCs of ill-informed Windows users. If your Windows PC isn’t patched, the worm can sneak in while you’re online, infect other unpatched PCs and also crash the computer. I hear it even gives a 60 second countdown before it crashes you and if you’re quick enough, you can patch Microsoft’s broken piece of garbage software before the countdown is up. Yay!
There’s patches and cleaning utilities out there, but the best way to not be infected is DONT RUN WINDOWS! People often ask me why I use a Mac and this worm hoopla is one of the classic scenarios I point out to them. And many Windows users even AGREE with me! They know Windows is insecure and ridden with flaws, but they have this “Well, that’s just the way it is attitude.” In July, Microsoft issued its 25th security patch FOR THE YEAR!
There’s a better way, folks.
